In Tartu, Estonian National Museum on October 19, 2024, Muuseumi tee 2; conference from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, governor’s gala from 7:00 PM to 1:00 AM.
The theme of the Rotary year 2024-2025, “The Magic of Rotary,” suggests that Rotary can achieve miracles. It is also a small miracle that the district conference and governor’s gala dedicated to Rotary International’s (RI) 120th anniversary will take place in the European Capital of Culture, Tartu.

Participation: Free. Coffee, tea, and snacks will be served at the gathering. All Rotarians are welcome to attend the meeting. Voting on behalf of the club requires authorisation according to the number of club members.

DISTRICT CONFERENCE
We are pleased to invite you to the Rotary Health and Peace Conference, which offers a diverse program where renowned specialists and experts will share their knowledge and experiences on various important topics. The program consists of three parts:
I PART: Health and Wellbeing
Program director: Margus Viigimaa (Tallinn RK).
The spouse of the President of Estonia, Sirje Karis, will speak on children’s and youth’s mental health in Nordic countries and society’s expectations of Rotary. Dr. Margus Viigimaa will provide advice on heart health, Dr. Kersti Mäses will discuss pharmaceutical companies’ role in healthcare quality, and Academic Andres Metspalu will present the possibilities of personalized medicine.
II PART: Peace and cooperation
The program directors: Sirje Sirita Somelar (Tallinn Hansa RK) and Marko Mihkelson (Tallinn RK).
Discussing Estonia’s security situation and societal expectations for maintaining peace are: US Ambassador to Estonia, George P. Kent, political scientist Kristi Raik; Brigadier General Viktor Kalnitski; Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Estonian Parliament, Marko Mihkelson.*
*There has been a change in the speakers for the Peace Panel at the District Conference.
III PART: Rotary Magical Year
D1420 Governor 2024-2025 Aune Past (Tartu Hansa RC) will address Rotary youth. Peeter Koppel will discuss making and investing money to support the Rotary Foundation. Tartu Mayor Urmas Klaas (Tartu RC) will share insights on the art of survival.

GOVERNOR’S GALA
- Gala dinner “Magical Flavors” by the restaurant “Pööriöö”.
- Tartu Hansa RK presents the region’s sparkling wine “Rotary”.
- The evening’s atmosphere will be created by tenor Alar Haak and pianist Siim Selis, with dance music by the band Madis Arro & Reminders.
- Charity auction in support of Ukraine.
- The evening will be hosted by Alar Haak.
Dresscode: Dark suit.

Cancellation of registration
Places are reserved in order of payment.
If you have registered and cannot participate, please send a cancellation notice to info@rotary.ee, as early enough notification allows the following people who wish to participate in the conference.
If you cancel your participation 30 days before the conference, the participation fee paid by you will be returned in full.
You must be reimbursed half of the participation fee if you cancel at least 20 days before the conference.
If you let us know of your cancellation later than the dates we mentioned, we have taken into account your participation, and the participation fee is not refundable.
Photography/recording notification
By attending or attending Rotary District 1420 conferences, pre-conference events, Rotary ticketed events, and hosting organisation committee events; you consent to your and your children being recorded by any means, including photography, audio, interview and video recording (“Recordings”).
